Body building is an art and is not an easy thing to do; it requires lots of commitment and dedication to become a professional body builder. Looking at professional bodybuilder’s one can actually judged what hardship and pain they must have gone through; to build that bulky, well toned and curvy body.
Hero’s from 90’s
1. Dorian Yates
Dorian Yates was a great champion of 90’s era, he has won almost all major titles in his career and rarely stood 2nd, and he won Mr. Olympia 5 times.
2. Shawn Ray
Shawn Ray was one of the top most professional bodybuilder; he was a great champion this can be judged from the fact that only once from 30 championships he entered in his career he was not a top five contender in a major bodybuilding event.
3. Mohammed Benaziza
Mohammed Benaziza was yet another great champion bodybuilder, in 1990, he won Grand Prix Championship 6 times in a single year and he also won Night of the Champions award the same year. In 1992 he was 2nd in Arnold Classic and International Championship.
4. Robby Robinson
Robby Robinson has won major championships many times , he also won Mr. Olympia, Mr. Universe, Mr. America ,Mr. World and Mr. International events.
5. Paul Dillett
Paul Dillett was from Las Vegas, New York born in Montreal, Quebec; he was winner of 1992 North American Championships and also won Night of Champions in 1999 and also performed well in Olympia.
6. Andreas Munzer
Andreas Munzer was well known for his low body fat, he was a professional bodybuilder from Austria; he was always in top 10 of major championships.
7. Mike Matarazzo
Mike Matarazzo was popularly know for his huge arms; he moved to Venice, California for making a career in professional bodybuilding; he started of by winning NPC USA Championships, Heavyweight title in 1991 and was always in top 10 in major championships.
8. Tom Prince
Tom Prince won NPC Nationals – Heavyweight and overall in 1997 which got him pro card to participate in professional bodybuilding championship; he was a very versatile bodybuilder of 90’s era.
9. Danny Padilla
Danny Padilla was frequent in top 10 of all major championship; he was also crowned Mr. Universe, Mr. America and Mr. USA
10. Johnnie Morant
Johnnie Morant was another fabulous bodybuilder who was always in top 10 at major championships, he had a great physique
Unmatched Greats
There is no doubt about the talents these great bodybuilders had; but their sheer determination and dedication deserves a salute. These are my Top 10 of 90’s that does not mean it would match yours because there are many others who played this sport with glory.
