Who were they?

Bodybuilding became a rage in early 1950’s among young men who trained hard to get those heavy muscles and thus the muscle mania gradually started  in America , there were not many competitions played during those days the most popular was Mr. America; than came Mr. Universe and Mr. Iron man.

My 10

1. John Farbotnik was crowned Mr. America twice and he never lost Mr. America. contest when he participated.

2. Melvin Wells won Mr. America title once; he was the most muscular bodybuilder of his time.

3. Roy Hilligenn was twice winner of Mr. America and he was also a weightlifting champion. He had a great physique and he use to feature in top muscle magazines of that time.

 4. Valerio Pasqua, once finished 4th in Mr. America

5. Edward Chrupcala finished 5th once and 7th once in Mr. America contest.

6. Marvin Eder participated thrice in Mr. America and stood 2nd, 3rd and 5th .

7. Vahe Kartalian participated once in Mr. America and stood 7th.

8. Al Berman participated thrice in Mr. America and stood 6th  , 8th and 19th .

9. Jim Park participated thrice in Mr. America and stood 1st  , 5th and 9th . He used to take Atkins diet; and 2000 protein pills a day, he use to eat meat with vegetables.

10. Steve Klisanin participated thrice in Mr. America and stood 1st , 4th and 10th.

Are they only one

There are others like Tommy Kono who won Iron man contest , Bob Weidlick who stood 2nd in that contest and John McCarty  who stood 3rd in the same contest had great body but the above 10 bodybuilders were outstanding in their art. No matter what, one cannot forget these fabulous bodybuilders who overnight became face of young America.
