When someone starts to workout for the first time more often than not they start working to build their biceps and most amateurs forget to work on forearms; an arm looks great if forearms are strong; and a strong arm would mean that one can easily lift heavy weights. 

How to build?

It depends on you, on how to go about building your forearms.

Let’s see example of people with strong forearms; if you observe forearms of experienced workers who do hammer work their forearms are very strong do you know why, it’s because years of hammer work they did; and the other example is of people who work out in gym or at their home.

If you are someone who wants to build forearms without banging those hammers in heat, humidity and under blazing sun; read on.

7 for forearms

1.      Barbell wrist curl is done in sitting position with your forearms between your legs and your body leaning towards thighs; now pick the barbell with palm facing you and move your wrist slowly up and down for few reps and in sets.

2.      Reverse barbell curl is used to build forearms; hold a light weight barbell with an overhand grip in standing position with arms straight near your hips and raise it to shoulder and then back.

3.      Wrist curls with dumbbells works great for your forearms; in a sitting position hold a dumbbell with underhand grip with forearm resting on your thigh and wrist just outside your knee; now move your wrist up and down; keep doing few reps and in sets.

4.      Reverse wrist curls are great for forearms and are done with dumbbells; it is similar to wrist curls explained above the only difference is, you need to change grip on your dumbbell and use overhand grip.

6.      Gripper is small exercise equipment which helps in developing your forearms and wrist. It is used by holding in your palms and than pressing its handle such that it contracts and kept on hold for few seconds and is again released to it original position.

7.      Chin-ups can be used to develop your forearms; hold the overhead bar with palm and fingers forward and away; move your body up slowly till your chin is just over the bar and slow move your body again downwards and repeat.
